Gator Open 2022 Draws and Information
The 2022 CKTS season continues this weekend (August 13-14) with a return trip to Bowling Green, Kentucky for the 2nd-annual Gator Open. This is the sixth stop on the 2021 Central Kentucky Tennis Series (CKTS) Tour after a very competitive tournament in Somerset two weeks ago. We are excited to have around 110 players joining us this weekend. ALL TIMES ARE CENTRAL (aka “Slow Time”)
The draws for the 2022 Gator Open are now published with links to the draws here on our website. Matches will be held at Greenwood High School as well as Warren Central High School courts. Tournament Director Tim Dethridge (Coach of the Greenwood Gator Tennis Team) has a great lineup of matches ready to roll. Players will report directly to their play site listed on the draws.
Please continue to check draws periodically for possible changes and corrections to pairings and times.
Players should check-in at their play site listed on the draws at least 20 minutes early. [AGAIN, ALL TIMES ARE CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME.] However, the tournament towels are all to be picked up at the Greenwood High site. Please bring your own drinks to stay hydrated. Weather updates will come from @cktstour on Twitter and Facebook
PLEASE NOTE that some Sunday matches may NOT YET be scheduled, pending the results of previous rounds in an effort to make Sunday scheduling more efficient.
ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: The brackets for 15 & Under events are labeled on the USTA site as “16 & Under,” but that is only a label that we cannot change–it is indeed the 15 & Under division.
YET ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: All draws are SINGLE ELIMINATION despite some labels that may indicate otherwise.
Players may report directly to their play site listed on the draw sheets. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start times listed on the draws. ALL TIMES ARE CENTRAL. Please bring your own drinks to stay hydrated. Weather updates will come from @cktstour on Twitter and Facebook.
Please also note that if you did not complete the online pre-payment process before the entry deadline, your registration may have been discarded. As with all USTA sanctioned events, pre-payment is mandatory and NOT optional for CKTS, a policy that began in 2020.
If you purchased a CKTS membership or TourPass, please request your CKTS t-shirt this weekend from one of the volunteers. (you’ll also get a Gator Open towel while supplies last). As always, CKTS memberships and TourPasses can be purchased online at any time 24/7.
We look forward to a great time of tennis this weekend in Bowling Green, as well as continuing an incredible 20th season of the CKTS!
