CKTS - Central Kentucky Tennis Series

Alton Blakley Lake Cumberland Open 2022 Draws and Information

The 2022 CKTS season continues this weekend (July 30-31) in Somerset, Kentucky with the annual Alton Blakley Lake Cumberland Open.  This is the 5th stop on the 2022 Central Kentucky Tennis Series Tour after a great weekend in Campbellsville just two weeks ago. We are excited to have 110 participants competing in our event this weekend. ALL TIMES ARE EASTERN (aka “Fast Time”)

The draws for this tournament are now published with a link to the draws here on our website.  Matches will be held at Southwestern High School, Somerset High School, and Pulaski County High School courts. As always, maps are available for each location on this tournament’s page.

We would like to welcome Dwain Harris back as Tournament Director! Dwain has a long history of involvement with the CKTS and is one of the original four founders of the Tour. He ran our very first-ever tournament in Columbia back in 2003. He returns to running this Somerset tournament after a 2-year stint as director a few years back. With the help of the volunteers at the Lake Cumberland Tennis Association, he is working very hard to make sure that this event is a good experience for all. During select finals matches there will also be ball crews!

Players should report directly to their play site listed on the draws at least 20 minutes early. [AGAIN, ALL TIMES ARE EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME.] However, the tournament shirts (and CKTS shirts) are all to be picked up at the Southwestern site. Please bring your own drinks to stay hydrated. Weather updates will come from @cktstour on Twitter and Facebook.

PLEASE NOTE that some Sunday matches may NOT YET be scheduled, pending the results of previous rounds in an effort to make Sunday scheduling more efficient.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: The brackets for 15 & Under events are labeled on the USTA site as “16 & Under,” but that is only a label that we cannot change–it is indeed the 15 & Under division.

YET ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: All draws are SINGLE ELIMINATION despite some labels that may indicate otherwise.

Please also note that if you did not complete the online pre-payment process before the entry deadline, your registration may have been discarded. As with all USTA sanctioned events, pre-payment is mandatory and NOT optional for CKTS, a policy that began in 2020.

If you purchased a CKTS membership or TourPass, please request your CKTS t-shirt this weekend from Nate or one of the volunteers. (you’ll also get an Alton Blakley Lake Cumberland Open tournament tee while supplies last). As always, CKTS memberships and TourPasses can be purchased online at any time 24/7.

We look forward to a great time of tennis this weekend in Somerset, as well as continuing an incredible 20th season of the CKTS!
