Important Info: USTA Numbers (FREE or paid) Required for 2023 Tournaments
Welcome to the 2023 season of the CKTS!
As many of you know, we have had a strong partnership with the USTA for many years. Our tournaments not only count towards our season-long points race but they also are entered into the USTA system, developing profiles for all players and in 2023, allowing our players to begin developing their World Tennis Number, a new worldwide tennis rating system. In previous years, USTA staff was able to create FREE USTA accounts for any CKTS player who didn’t have one. But a recent adjustment to their authentication process now requires the player (or parent for juniors) to create these accounts for themselves, due to privacy issues. So, you will now see that a USTA Number is a required field for all CKTS registrations.
For those of you who already have a USTA account and know your number, nothing changes. Just have that number handy when you register for a CKTS tournament. For those of you who don’t have a USTA account or are unsure if you do, our advice is to create or find your USTA number now. It is a very easy process and should take 3-5 minutes to complete. You are not required to purchase an active USTA membership, but you do need an account with them in order to have a USTA membership number. To create (or retrieve) your USTA account, you simply need to go to the following link: https://www.usta.com/en/home/myaccount/choose-account-type.html.
For parents who are signing up a child who is 12 years or younger, you will have to have an USTA account of your own to create that child’s account. For children 13 years and older, you can create their account directly. Once you have created an account, please write down the USTA number somewhere accessible as you will need it for each tournament registration.
